Character Help
Let the Chaos begin
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
- Step One: Race
Choose a Race. This always comes before anything else in my book. You can't even really choose a name before this step. - Step Two: Appearence
Choose a look/Playby. This step makes the character start to have a form and some feeling. - Step Three: Skills
Get an Idea of your character's Powers/special Skills. Can your vampire fly? Can they give compulsion at just one look? Or does your human have some awesome skill with weapons? This is the part where you figure that out. By this time you will really have a feel for your character, and can easily do the rest of the steps. - Step Four: Personality
This part seems to be tricky for everyone I have me (even myself at times) One thing I have found. Introvert Characters are Bad! (i typed that slowly, and one character at a time, for emphasis, but you couldn't tell that really...) If you play an Introvert character true to type, you will lack threads and the opportunity to actually play. Semi introverts are alright, ones who steer clear of a certain type of other character. Say a human who steers clear of vampires? Yeah that's fine, there will be plenty of Humans to RP with. Throw some flare into your introverted character and live a little while you are here. Also Feral Characters... Bad to play. Not many people, human and vampire alike, want a feral vampire trying to snack on their veins every time they turn their back. SO, while in books both introverts and feral characters are mysterious and sheik, in RP it's a different story. - Step Five: History
Another tricky one, but, it makes it easier after having the look, you can tell where this person's heritage comes from, and write accordingly. Just make sure when you get to the current timeline, you go along with the site's plot, your personality, and your race. - Step Six: Fine Touches
For this part, What you really want to do is fill in any little blanks that you are missing, add flaws/limits to your powers, and any piercings/tattoos to the character's appearance that your picture or playby does not show or have. it's pretty much just fleshing out any area that may be bare. This is the part where you get a second opinion of another player or even the staff if they have time. - Step Seven: RP Sample
Alright Lucky Number Seven! RP Sample. I know mostly everyone hates writing an RP sample, even I do from time to time. It's not that hard really, just a few paragraphs of your skill in roleplaying. Bonus points go to the player that posts a NEW RP with your NEW character. Big points really. It is always better to do an RP sample involving the character in question, not your pokemon character in pokemon cyan and burgundy (no such thing... at least i don't think so) It's key to post as the character in your app.
