It's December 2, 3016, and the world's greatest minds have discovered a major gene in the evolved cat's body that could help the cat adapt to harsh weather, such as needing little water and food or changing it's own bone structure over time. Since cats were once desert animals they were well suited to harsh environmental conditions. And since humans have turned Earth into a wasteland and need to visit distant planets they started studying cats to learn more about this gene... In 3021 they finished building the Genome Space Base (Which is so big it can be seen from Earth, and is just barely smaller in size than the Moon) and in 3025 they sent 70% of the cat population to the base to be studied... In 3027 the Faux P-2 gene was inserted into cats and chemicals were used to allow the cats to assimilate the Faux P-2 gene into its own gene sequence. As a result cats could now learn to speak. In 3034 the scientists at the base welcomed the cats to genetic mutations such as purple eyes and multiple extra toes. This was done by inserting chemicals into a she-cat before she gave birth to her kittens, and the chemicals made the kittens deformed. In 3056 no more exciting discoveries were found, and the cats were left on the base with the robots to care for them. The scientists returned to Earth and shared their discoveries with the rest of the humans and, as far as cats were concerned, left to distant planets. Now it was just the cats and robots at the base, floating in the big, empty, outer space. Then, in 3078, the cats saw human space fleets steadily retreating from Earth. The space station was slowly sucked towards a black hole, along with Earth. Earth was ripped to shreds by it, but since the base was heavily armed it had only minor damages. The cats were whisked out of the Milky Way galaxy and sent into a spiral through space until they crashed on a distant planet. Luckily the planet had oxygen, so the cats could roam freely. The cats formed a Clan called the Cat Genome Project, or CGP (In 3081). After their history. In 3083 they found a civilization of highly-evolved extra terrestrials. They quickly became friends, and the extras taught them about technology. The cats began time traveling, developing weapons, and deforming themselves to survive.
