Marcus was tired. He was tired of seeing so many damned Vampires walking around, acting like the ruled the world. Well, right now, they pretty much did. Europe had always been overwhelmed with them, but now, the rest of Asia and the Pacific were starting to be. The US has recently come into the standings of having the highest population of Vampires and it disgusted him. God didn't create these monsters, so they didn't belong on soil that He gave us as humans. Marcus swallowed the rest of his whiskey in one gulp, his dangerous blue-eyes locking with the bartenders in a notion to fill the glass back up. Once he did, though, Marcus only stared at it. The rust colored liquid was so damned good and yet so damned dangerous at the same time. Kinda like he was. Dangerous, but so damned good at being dangerous. Finally, after staring into the glass for what seemed like ages, he took a drink and stood up, his trench coat falling around his muscular body as he rose. The way he move was so predatory that it seemed like he was made of water; his movements so fluid. Some humans feared him because he moved like a Vampire, and that drove him insane, because he was not a Vampire. If he ever was chagned into a Vampire, he would kill himself.
Marcus made his way up the stairs, his body manuvering through bodies easily. Some women would place their delicate hands on his broad chest, casting him a seducing glance. Marcus didn't even cast them a glance, but only touched their wrist gently and moved it away from him. He could feel the eyes of people on him as he moved, but he didn't pay any mind. He was used to it. He was a very powerful figure as a human, which was huge. If he wanted, he could snap every neck in this place without breaking a sweat. It was mostly from his training as a Marine and a Marine Sniper; being a Sniper taking a lot more training. The music from the Night Club got a lot more quiet as he reached the top of the stairs and went into one of the VIP rooms that was vacant. He always did when he wanted to get away from the noise, but not be at the Resistance Headquarters. The security for the rooms only nodded at him, knowing him very well and not really caring that he didn't have a pass to get in. As soon as the curtain was pulled behind him, he shrugged off his trench coat and hung it on a coat rack, revealing the muscular biceps that were brought out even more by the tightness of his black t-shirt. He sat down on one of the couches, throwing his boots up onto the coffee table and taking a sip of his whiskey. It had been a rather long night, and now, he was getting the chance to relax.

Meleny was out patrolling the streets to make sure the humans out at night were safe. She knew nowhere was safe anymore now that vampires like herself had taken over. Tonight was the third night in a row Meleny had gone out patrolling hoping to find one human in particular. She remembered the day one of her human refugees, the thirteen year old Gianna Callowhill had told her that Dorian, her wounded refugee was missing. Meleny felt as if her no longer beating heart had skipped a beat which was impossible because she was essentially dead. Meleny cursed herself for not paying closer attention to him. He hadn't been seen for at least a month and it worried her. What if he was out there somewhere hurt worse or even captured? What if he was property and he had god only knows what happening to him?
As Meleny stopped in front of an unfamiliar building she felt tears sting her eyes. She had to find him. Poor Gianna was worried sick about him. She could smell her tears coming as the thirteen year old human told her what was going on. She remembered the conversation they had when he woke up in one of the bedrooms. He was probably off looking for his sister and twin brother. She sighed wishing she could've been there to stop him from leaving if that was the case. He was still hurt and it was too dangerous for any human to go out without protection. Meleny looked up through her tears at her destination. She had never been to this particular building before but something told her he wouldn't have stopped here. This place looked entirely too seedy for a teenage boy to go. Of course Meleny had no idea what went through the mind of teenage boys but it's seediness was off putting.
Meleny thought for a few more minutes debating on weather or not to check the bar out. Even though she was a vampire, she still felt underage. She was turned when she was just eighteen. She would never see her twenty first birthday, not that she had any plans on drinking alcohol if she hadn't been turned and was able to age. Still because of her innocent looking appearance the bartenders would probably kick her out.

Marcus could smell everything in the bar. The sweat sliding down someone's back, the lust hovering in the air between two people, and mostly, the Vampires. God, they had the scent of the Devil. It was perfect, divine, and so very intoxicating; but it was a smell Marcus couldn't stand. The scent burnt his nose, and he felt like he needed a gas-mask to prevent himself from breathing it in. It wasn't until he smelt fear did he really take the scent into consideration. Fear of a human, because he could smell the sweat. It was a youthful scent to. A teenager at oldest. Marcus stood quickly, his eyes narrowing. He grabbed his trench coat, slinging it back on his shoulders. He moved quickly, tracking the scent up to the roof, where the door was cracked, allowing the smell to pass through. A boy was surrounded by Vampires, the one in charge moving towards him, a malicious grin on his face. Marus moved quickly, snapping and tearing the head off of the Vampire closest to him. The next one, he jerked a Bowie knife from his boot, slashing the throat of the next one. As he ran towards the head Vampire, he leapt, his feet crashing into his chest, sending him to the ground. What are you doing, kid? Get out of here. he snapped, holding the Vampire down.
As soon as he heard the kid's footsteps hit the bottom floor, he returned his attention back to the Vampire. Who the hell do you think you are, human? Your head will be for ransom if you kill me. the Vampire growled. I don't have to think, I know who I am. Marcus Wright, Resistance Leader. My head is already for ransom, so you can burn in Hell, you son of a bitch. he growled, ripping his head off and throwing it off the side of the building. Within seconds, his body burst into dust like the rest did, the blood that was on Marcus's hands doing the same. Commotion came once again from downstairs, and Marcus's eyes focused on the door, silencing his body so he could hear everything perfectly. Look at that pretty little thing. She looks to young to be in a club, but hell, if she's gonna shake her ass for us than who cares? Marcus's brows furrowed and he moved downstairs, people parting for him like a wave.
His eyes landed on the girl everyone was causing so much commotion about, but as soon as he saw her, he narrowed his eyes. Vampire. She wasn't as young as she looked, so he didn't have to worry about her getting into any trouble, or getting hurt. Shit, he wouldn't care if she got hurt. Marcus turned, making his way back up the steps and away from the main floor.

Still standing outside and debating on whether or not to check out the bar or keep moving, Meleny turned her nose up to the air when she thought she smelled the scent of a human and a swarm of vampires on the roof. However, as quickly as it had come it dissapeared just as fast. Someone must've already dealt with them. Still, it was customary of her to make sure the human wasn't harmed on his way to safety. There may not be anymore vampires (except for herself) at this particular spot but one never knew. However, she wouldn't have tried to hurt that human boy.
Meleny sighed and walked through the doors of the bar to track the boy's scent from the roof to make sure he was all right. She found the door to the roof and walked through it only to find absolutely nothing, like she suspected. The way the scent of vampie and human had dissapeared so rapidly told her that the danger in this particular area had passed. Still, she didn't care. She would find that boy and make sure he didn't get himself into more trouble. Someone should've really escorted him home instead of letting him walk alone at night.
The boy's scent still lingered on the roof somewhat so she followed it down the stairs of the roof and back outside the bar, going wherever the scent took her. Eventually she found the boy sitting on a bench in a nearby park. "Are you all right? I had the feeling you were in trouble earlier."
The boy recoiled a bit at the sight of Meleny.
Meleny put her hand tenderly on his shoulder. "Shh. It's all right. I'm not going to hurt you. I just came to check on you. You should've went home instead of staying out. There are lots of bad things that come out at night."she said kindly and held out her hand for his own. "Where do you live? I'll take you there so no one can harm you. It's not a good idea for a human like yourself to be walking around alone at night."she said still thinking of her own missing human, whose whereabouts she still hadn't found.
The boy took it, still unsure, but if this girl was only trying to protect him, he ought to listen.
A few minutes later Meleny and the boy had arrived at his house and she waited outside until he was safely in the locked house. Meleny then walked back to where she was before, outside the same bar from earlier. She felt good knowing she did a good deed even if someone else had gotten rid of the vampires. She still made sure no other vampires could get to him. She couldn't help but wonder what such a young boy was doing out alone anyway.
